Long Distance Relationship
You and your Internet Valentine have been talking for awhile, and you both think it's time to meet in person. Take a deep breath. The decision to meet in person is very important, but make sure you do not put so much importance on the success of the first meeting that you become awkward and uncomfortable.
Choose one or more activities that will allow you both to have fun and be able to talk freely. Playing billiards together, bowling, biking, hiking, playing golf or miniature golf, wall climbing, dancing, attending an outdoor concert or fireworks display, skating, or an outdoor picnic are all good ideas for a first date. Having something to do takes away some of the pressure you or your Valentine might feel
Be sure to pick a day when you are both well rested. Nothing can spoil a date like having one or the other so tired from overwork that he is yawning his way through the first date. Take cues from your Valentine about whether or not he is enjoying the activity.
Listen to your date. Make mental notes when she talks about her likes and dislikes. Be honest if you don't enjoy a suggested activity.
